The Great White Silence



"The great white silence" is a 1924 english documentary shot during the expedition "Terra Nova expedition" in 1919/1913.
Restored by BFI National Archive, this movie is the editing of the official film record of Captain Scott's ill-fated trip to the South Pole.
This silent film is now sounded with the original music of our friend Simon Fisher Turner,
helped by David Coulter, Sarah Scott, the Elysian quartet & Alexander l'Estrange.

Necessary Monsters



"Necessary Monsters", a staged song cycle for 7 musicians & 1 actress,
written by the american violonist and vocalist  Carla Kihlstedt & the poet Rafael Oses,
based on "Book of imaginary beings" of Jose Luis Borges.
At the West coast premiere in San Francisco in July 2011.

Rock me baby


Sugar Pie DeSanto is an american/philipino  rythm'n'blues singer born in 1935.
She started in 1955 touring with the "Johnny Otis Revue".
As a great talented voice, Sugar Pie was part of the "American Folk Blues Festival" 
in Europe in 1964 where she was the only female artist.
She happened to be a hilarious comedienne as well a show-stopping dancer
Here with Willie Dixon on bass & Hubert Sumlin on guitar.

Chappaqua

A psychedelic excerpt of the cult movie Chappaqua, which won the second price at the Venice Film Festival competition in 1966.
Directed by Conrad Rooks, the plot is the semi-autobiographical account of his own attempt to pull himself up out of a pit of drug/alcohol addiction.
Main characters are interpreted by Jean Louis Barrault as well figures from the beat generation as Allen Ginsberg, Williams Burroughs and the musical appearances with Ravi Shankar, Ornette Coleman, Moondog, The Fugs....
